Inheritance: Art Breakdown

Been telling you guys about art for a few days now, and decided that it was past time I delivered on that.

This first one is the mansion Pantry:

This first picture was a sample sketch, a little on the simple side, but then again the room is a bit simple in its own right.  Looked good for what we had planned for the scene so I gave the artist the green light to continue.

The second offering from the artist:

The overall feel for this was pretty good, but I did choose to knitpick a couple of issues.  Biggest thing I had to say was that we didn't need the light filtering in from outside.  We merely needed a version where the lights are on, and one where they are off.

The final versions:

Given the nature of the pantry, I felt that these two images would work very well for the project.

Now, on to the piece that I REALLY enjoyed seeing come together.

Downstairs Hallways:

The original version that I received already included some colors.  Overall I liked the the feel of the hallway, but I DID mention that I'd prefer the paintings be traded out for something of a more erotic nature.

The second set of images I received:

I actually asked for several things to be revised in this image.  The first was that there just felt like there were too many paintings.  I asked to keep the vagina painting as well as the image right above the door and to junk the rest.  Those two in turn I requested to be placed one on each side of the door.

This first one is supposed to be for "Cloudy Days" but I felt that the lights being on would be too much for this particular image and asked that they be turned off in the final version.

This second one looked good with the exception of the pictures issue which I had requested be changed for all of the images.  I thought the lighting was good for a daylight lit area.

For a night time image, the soft glow of the lights felt pretty good in this one.  Only changes I wanted were the pictures as mentioned from the earlier versions.

Final versions:

Was really happy with how these turned out.  The paintings looked good without coming off as gaudy or over presented.  Lighting was acceptable for all of them.

Hope that you guys enjoyed the art breakdowns!
