Nothing a little therapy can't fix.
Added 2018-01-11 21:57:34 +0000 UTCThe last week, the last two days especially, have been INTENSE. I've written stuff that left me lying awake in bed last night, things that give me goosebumps, and things that may well haunt the darkest places within me for a life time.
After posting progress last night, I actually waded back into Wanton Cove and continued to work for a couple more hours. In all, I spent something around 11 hours writing and coding. Today, I got up and started right in where I had left off, and after six hours of work, the main ending of the game is now complete. 17 hours of writing in two days may not be a record for me, but its got to come close.
This has been among the darkest, most morbid, and just plain evil content that I have ever written. On the one hand, I'm happy to see it done, to be at a point where I can shift my attention back to the brighter things in my life (Seriously, taking the wife out to lunch tomorrow, going to the local butterfly house, then taking her home to make sweet love to her for the couple of hours before we have to pick the kids up from school. Nothing but happy thoughts and good feelings for me for a couple of days.) On the other hand its a little sad to see such a major goal reached because it means we're one more big step toward completing the game. I am happy to have such a major piece of content completed, and I am very pleased with how it came out.
The next TEST build should be up either later tonight or some time tomorrow. (Going to try for tonight) It includes a bit over 14k words of content and the scene branches into six endings.

Next up:
-Test build of Wanton Cove will be released (Probably tonight) either tonight or some time tomorrow. The official build should be out late next week.
-Tonight or tomorrow, I want to reach out to artists and see if I can't start pricing up the cost for the various elements of our planned Paper Doll system. Figure its going to take an hour or two to write everything up, then I'll spend the weekend replying to inquiries and such related to it.
-Next week should set us back on our regular schedule again after the holidays created a bit of a slowdown. I'll resolve any issues reported for Wanton Cove on Monday, then hopefully invest the rest of the week into a couple of interactive scenes for Inheritance.
-End of next week should see a new release of Wanton Cove, and a new test build of Inheritance.
-The following week I want to wade back into Wanton Cove. My plan is to split my time between writing new content and making improvements. I want to go back over the primary ending of the game and see about making improvements (Always good to look at something a few days after writing it, it allows you to see it with fresh eyes.), write the first scene in the "Azumi's mother" side story, and see about resolving a couple of small issues that have been reported for the game.
-On my Wanton Cove weeks from now on, I'll be setting a goal for content for that week, then extra time will likely go into Aftermath as we start doing the ground work for that game. The hope is to have a playable early version (Something on par with what we have right now for Inheritance) around the time that the major side stories I have planned have been finished for Wanton Cove.
And, I think that's everything I have to report at the moment!

I hope that it lives up to all of your expectations!
