Inheritance Progress Report

Been working on Inheritance either in the form of messages, coding, or writing, for a little over 7 hours so far today.  Figured it was past time I took a break for a few minutes.    And I decided this was as good a time as any to post a progress report.


Art:

-Received another dozen or so pieces of sample art related to the paper doll system (Seriously, I need to start posting some of that for Patrons to enjoy.)  That puts us up around 90 pieces of art for that side project.


Writing:

-Wrote and coded about 2k words of content for the bed time event with Eve where she comes to your room and you can kiss her.  Finished up the "Groping" segment and am moving things toward handjobs.  Cracked myself up writing the "Birds and the bees" conversation with her where you stop things long enough to make sure she understood what she's getting into, . . . . don't worry, she explains things for you so you have a better idea of what you're getting into,  :P

-Beautiful thing about the scene is that I've taken the time to set it up a specific way so I can use the framework for future "Seduction" scene chains related to Eve without the need to code it more than once!  (Basically, I want to let you fool around with Eve in several different locations/situations.  Progressing to a specific point will mean you can get to that point in the other scenes as well without scaring her too badly.)


Pregnancy:

-This is actually where a lot of my time went this morning.


Keeping in mind that this is copy/pasted from our development notes, this should give everyone interested in the topic a better idea of what we have planned on this front.


Some notes:


-Every female in the game will be coded for pregnancy.

-Birth control will be 100% effective.

-While  I plan to create a baseline pregnancy, there will eventually be three  types of pregnancy (Easy, Normal, Difficult).  A normal pregnancy will  pull from the "Normal" events with a very small chance of an event from  one of the other groupings.  An easy pregnancy will pull from the "Easy"  events with a moderate chance of pulling events from the "Normal"  grouping.  The difficult pregnancy will pull from the "Difficult" events  with a moderate chance of pulling events from the "Normal" grouping.

-Normal  Pregnancy: 80% "Normal" events.  15% "Easy" events.  5% Difficult  events.  A "Normal" pregnancy would happen 80% of the time.

-Easy Pregnancy: 75% "Easy" events.  25% "Normal" events.  An "Easy" pregnancy would happen 15% of the time.

-Difficult Pregnancy: 60% "Difficult" events.  40% "Normal" events.  A "Difficult" pregnancy would happen 5% of the time.

-If  menstrual cycles are easy to set up, great, we'll plan a percentage  chance of pregnancy based on that.  If not, we'll set a simple  percentage to be present at all times.

-I had planned to simply have  men tagged as being able to get a girl pregnant or not.  If its not a  lot of trouble then  we can set up male potency as well, but its not a  huge deal if pregnancy is purely dependent on the female's stats.

-Pregnancy  will be planned around a normal pregnancy length.  Usually 38-39 weeks  (almost exactly 38.5 for an average.)  I see no need to randomize the  length if its going to be hard to do, but if its easy, then that length  would be where most births happen with it becoming increasingly rare the  further you move from that time.

-There will be items in the game  that can prevent pregnancy, accelerate pregnancy, slow pregnancy, pause  pregnancy, increase the likelihood of pregnancy, etc.  We will want to  plan for those when putting together whatever system we choose

-Both  the father and mother will factor into the child's appearance once born.   That said, we'll be starting with early pregnancy and move forward  from there.  This is a mechanic that's going to be added over the course  of several months, not weeks

-Appearance of baby would be factored  at conception, but through use of the laboratory it would be possible to  modify a baby before birth.  Babies would effectively become a new NPC  within the game.

-From the writing side of things, I intend to write  scenes by "Week" with a hand full of events that can happen in a time  window.  Some of these scenes may only appear in a small window of time,  others may span several weeks if appropriate.  But that's something  I'll be dealing with on my end.  I intend to use a random event system  like what we see already.  Basically the scenes will be seeded through  the game as appropriate.  Some will happen in bed, others may happen in  one or more location, others will be available through a pregnancy  discussion option that will appear once a girl is pregnant.

- What this will mean for the paper doll system:  I will be commissioning a  set of pregnancy bellies which will appear with the related character  during pregnancy progression.  Also, in the final trimester the affected  character will gain one cup size for their breasts. 

-Pregnancy  mechanic will also work for animal husbandry for the sake of breeding  dogs and horses.  More on that when the time comes. 



Now, off to do some stretches, find something vaguely resembling food, then hopefully do another two or three hours of writing /coding/etc this evening.  If everything goes to plan, I get to teach Eve how to give a hand job tonight, . . . :P
