Paper Doll Art Samples
Added 2018-03-08 15:05:43 +0000 UTCGot about 90 more images from the paper doll artist last night. And since among that I started to receive some bust versions of clothing items I figured this would be a good excuse to show things off just a little bit.
Now, these first two images are of the short sleeve and long sleeve versions of a basic shirt. In both cases, the shoulder/arm area is a separate image from the chest. The reason it is being done this way is to allow for arm movement later (Right now we only have a single arm variant, but eventually I want to add additional arm placements, and in doing so we will need different sleeve placements to make things look right. By keeping all elements separate it prevents possible overlap in this case.

Now, both of the images above show a flat chested person wearing the shirt. If someone has no breasts to speak of, then that's the version that will appear when the character in question is wearing that shirt.
However, we also have five breast sizes ranging from small to fairly large. The images below include both the arms and torso layers like the ones above, but depending on the NPCs chest size it also calls a third image to indicate breast size.

Now, why is the layering system so important you may wonder? Well, not only does it present us with a range of clothing items at a more manageable cost (Instead of doing a short sleeve shirt in 6-8 colors, then doing another one at a tiny breast size, then another at a small breast size, then another at average, etc, then doing a long sleeve variant, etc, etc, we can instead mix and match pieces to create new items at a fraction of the art costs. In the case of the shirt above, instead of doing about 25-30 images at around $10 each, we can instead do 8 images that can be interchanged to accomplish the same thing. When we get around to adding a new arm placement, then instead of commissioning another 25-30 images for each arm placement, we only have to commission a new sleeve for each type of shirt, in this case we would have to commission only two new images. Make sense?)
The other reason this is so important is because of delightful little things like this:

See the way the black bra peeks out from behind the maid uniform?
Or in the case of the black variant it's much more subtle:

And I suppose that if I'm sharing art, and I've already posted a couple of them, I'll share some of the additional maid uniform colors:

Most items we have commissioned for this first bundle will come in white (White will also be used for a template if we decided to add additional colors meaning if we want a new color we already have the drawing and all we need to pay for is the recoloring of the image instead of starting from scratch), black, red, blue, yellow, green, purple, and orange.
And Anna's default uniform in all its glorious busty forms (This one has the darker skin tone under it. We commissioned two skin tones for now with the intent to add additional skin tones at a later time):

I hope that helps everyone understand the paper doll system just a little better. And if you have any questions/comments/observations, feel free to comment below!
