Progress Report
Added 2018-03-10 03:01:48 +0000 UTCIts been one hell of a day.

I managed a solid 11 hours of work today, which I'm very happy about. Unfortunately only about 4 of those were actually spent writing/coding for Wanton Cove. The rest of that time was spent talking with artists, talking with coding, and those kinds of things.
The four (Maybe just a little more than that) hours I spent working on Wanton Cove today included the addition of a couple of small scenes, adding new art to the game, and working through some old bug reports to improve the game.
I spent quite a bit of time talking with coders today about movement and items in Inheritance. Pulled a pretty good Q&A session with everyone involved in that part of the project as we try to find a balance between efficiency in the code and functionality in the game. I suspect that TME and grayelf already have a pretty good idea of what they're going to do, so I shared my thoughts on what I'd like to see, let them know that I was willing to make adjustments to how I did things if coding it was going to be a pain in the neck, and set them loose. The movement system is going to need a minor overhaul to handle things like cleaning (Someone assigned to cleaning will go to a room, clean for a period of time based on their cleaning skill, then move to the next place that needs cleaning) and we're working out how frequently the game will need to check conditions without it bogging down the game. The other thing we discussed in detail is the transformation elements and whether we want instant, quick, or slow transformations in the game. For the time being at least, transformations will happen in an hour or less as this will make the game more efficient. That said, I haven't ruled out the possibility of a slow transformation or two at some point during development. We've also been talking some details about pregnancy and periods within the game and it sounds like we've got that sorted fairly well for the time being. All I can do with that stuff now is sit back and let the coders do their jobs!
Paper Doll art keeps pouring in. Nothing is final yet, but its coming along very nicely. Artist believes that he is ahead of schedule at the moment and I expect to start seeing finalized art by the end of the month.
Received a final version of the new Inheritance wallpaper yesterday. I'll try to post it over the weekend for patrons. This one involves the protagonist and Anna sleeping in bed with Eve crawling in to bed behind her sister to cuddle. Its a cute image and I'm happy with how it turned out.
Spent a little over an hour talking with the Wanton Cove artist. At the end of it I received a completed image (Just shared it in an art breakdown a little while ago for those of you pledged at that level.) related to the fourth dream in the game. Its among my favorite images the artist has done for the game so far. I just finished putting that and one other image into the game a little while ago that should appear in next week's build.
Moving forward:
-Posted a poll earlier today to determine what I will be working on next week. Not sure if I will have time to work over the weekend, but I'll likely work on whatever is in the lead at the time if I do. If that's the eventual winner, great, if not, then it never hurts to get a little writing front loaded for the next build. ;)
-The original author of "Runt of the Litter" over on chyoa.com has marked their game as private so they can use it to make money through Patreon. While I'm a little sad that they are no longer taking outside contributions (And thus I will be unable to continue the story branch I have been writing for the last few weeks.) I completely understand the need to maintain control over your own creations, especially if you're going to try making a living off of it. I wished the author the best of luck with their work and plan to watch that story continue to grow eagerly.
-There will be no new build this weekend. I worked last week on The Therapist. Since that is not my own project, nothing went to testing last week. With nothing in testing last weekend, I have nothing to release this week. That said, I just released a new TEST build of Wanton Cove earlier today that will be released to everyone around this time next week.
-Not expecting to get much, if any, work done this weekend. However I should be able to jump right into writing again Monday morning. When I get ready to work, I'll take a look at the Patreon only poll I started earlier today and tally the results. Winner gets my attention next week!
Got a LOT going on related to both Inheritance and Wanton Cove right now (Ok, mostly for Inheritance. :P ) that is very exciting. I'm very excited to get to share what's coming as it becomes available. The paper doll system especially is going to be awesome. I'll keep sharing bits and pieces of what's going on as it all unfolds.
