Inheritance Progress Report

Panic, Chaos, Disorder!

Seriously though, its been an interesting day all across the board.

Spent about half of the day dealing with fallout related to my vehicles (I mentioned what happened in yesterday's report.  Got the second vehicle into the shop today.  Sounds like the problem could either be something really easy to fix, or one of about half a dozen expensive things.  Today we ruled out the easy fix.  :S ) which cut fairly heavily into my work time today.  Even so, I still managed to finish up a really good chunk of work today.

Where we currently stand:  I've got two scenes, a bit over 6k words of content between them that just need to be coded into the game.  Also am about 1.5k words of content into a new bedroom scene for Anna that's turning into a LOT of fun to write, . . . . its going to require a very high relationship value to trigger, but for those of you who like to pamper and love her, its going to be worth the grind to get it.  ;)  In other words we've got somewhere between 7-8k words of new content for the next build already.  I should have no trouble hitting 10-15k which will make it a fairly good size build (I usually aim for 5-8k for a release if you want a little context),  Very happy with this week's progress so far.

In addition to all of that:

-Ran down a couple of minor bugs and such in the game (Nothing game breaking.  I think the most noticeable item was an image that was not displaying properly in the intro.) which will appear in the next major build of the game

-Got updated sketches for the busts commissioned for Wanton Cove.  After a brief conversation with our long time artist for the project, I think he's becoming a fan of the game.  :P  He mentioned playing the game early on just to get a feel for the setting, and now he sounds kind of excited about the prospect of getting to play new builds, . . .

I may get a little more writing done this evening, but only time will tell for sure.

Tomorrow should give me a 5 hour window to work.  I hope to finish up the scene I'm working on right now during that time and then hopefully start adding the next branch of the contest entry that started appearing in the A10 build.

Thursday should be a good day for work.  Should have 4-6 hours early in the day, then probably another four hours in the evening.  I'm hoping to be putting the final touches on the next build by then as I prepare to send it out to testers.

Friday:  Friday could go either way.  Depending on a couple of factors (Whether or not I have a running vehicle by the end of the week being the biggest factor) will depend on if that's a date day with my wife or if its another work day.  If its a date day, then I'll release the new Wanton Cove build in the afternoon but am unlikely to do much else work related.  If its a work day, then we'll still see the Wanton Cove build released in the afternoon, but I'll also be able to fit in +/-6 hours of work time as well.

Saturday:  Bug fixes for anything reported related to the new build.  Inheritance test build released unless I forget again, . . . . in which case it will appear on Sunday.  And I'd guess about a one in three chance I get to sneak off and write for a couple of hours.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Glad I could be of a little help. Its difficult to maintain a conversation in these comment threads, if you'd like to talk in more detail, shoot me a message over at GateKeeper_A@protonmail.com I don't personally do commissions, but I can think of a couple of places where you may be able to find commission writers, or write for a commission.

Aftermath Team

That is very helpfull sr, i do need some basic for understangind storytelling in order to avoid issues, that say my current goal is to find a writer, just the same way you have your project here, that say i have no idea how a comision for a writer is rate and were to find, and looking at how you give shout outs to another patrons i decide to ask, and yes im serious about this, mostly i comision artist but im looking to stabish a fix idea.

Pointers for writers? Just in general? Or something specific? Pointers for finding writers, or for writing in general? I'm guessing that its for being a writer, so I'll comment accordingly: -Write what you know and love. If you're not familiar with something, look it up and read up on the subject before putting pen to paper. And your passion for a story (Or lack there of) will likely shine through your writing, and quality is almost always better if you genuinely love what you're doing. -Listen to feedback. But listening doesn't mean you have to do what people say. Look at advice, weigh it, and if it can help you take it. If it doesn't feel right to you then you don't have to take it to heart. -Take a writing class if you don't have a lot of practice writing. There's books about writing, classes about writing (Both online and off) and other ways to gain some early experience. -Find a proving grounds for your work. Chyoa.com, Literotica.com and other similar sites are great places to post your work. And even if you don't always receive direct feedback, you can look at how many hits your stories get, how many likes you get, and use that to see what people get feedback on more specific pieces of content. This makes a good way to experiment and gain confidence in your work. Best of luck in your endeavors, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Always good to see how the progress is been done, i really need to stop been so lazy myself, on a side note, not sure if im asking this correctly sincei can't note you but im looking for pointers for writers.
