The Allure of Wanton Cove Art Breakdown
Added 2018-05-09 04:00:00 +0000 UTCThe body on the shore. A piece of content that has captured the imagination of many of those who have played The Allure of Wanton Cove. As one of the more iconic moments currently in the game, I felt it deserved its own piece of art.
The first draft:
This first draft looked like a great starting point. Not seeing anything to knitpick, I turned the artist loose on the piece.
First colors:
A few days later, I received the first colored version. I thought it looked really good overall, but the blue/cream coloring at the top of the image didn't feel right. I asked the artist to add a bit of greenery to it.
Final version:
I liked how the image turned out with the greenery in the background. Overall, the image felt a little ironic (I love irony. :P ) such a dark and depressing scene, the seemingly senseless loss of life and harsh presentation of the body, . . . yet somehow the scene proved to be an opportunity to display some of the brightest colors we've seen within the Wanton Cove setting.
