Patreon Issues
Added 2018-08-02 15:56:22 +0000 UTCCreators have lost anywhere from 20% to 50% of their pledges in the last 24 hours. The issue is that banks are rejecting Patreon charges due to them looking fraudulent, because Patreon changed their bank to a bank in England rather than America.
If this issue is effecting you, you should be able to resolve it either online via your bank's website, or by calling them. Unfortunately this was a bit of a surprise for all of us.
UPDATE:
Patreon issued a statement about the issue a little while ago. You can learn more here:

Honestly, I never had issue with them until these last few months, but some of the ways they're trying to paint people into a corner over what they can and can't buy bothers me. Patreon moved their banking to Europe a couple of months ago, we're still experiencing some growing pains over it, but hopefully once things settle a bit, it will become more stable. Only time will tell though.

2018-08-02 23:31:50 +0000 UTCThey seem to have alot of knee jerk reactions when something happens, or atleast that's what the clusterfuck of censoring of NSFW creators was. But this definitely seems like they just made a choice without considering the consequences for the complications it would have caused. The fact they didn't let anybody know shows either A: They had no idea what they were doing when they switched from two nationally different banks or B: They didn't really think the creators needed to know about a drastic change. Either option doesn't fill me with confidence.

2018-08-02 22:58:17 +0000 UTCThere's that saying "Look before you leap" I think this is a case of them seeing something that they view as beneficial and doing it before really stopping to think through the full implications of their actions. I've heard from several places that they changed their bank. With the kind of money handling they do, they really should have been more aware of the potential troubles AND have let us know what was coming down the pipe so if there was issues we would have known what's going on and why. Few things are worse than uncertainty, and situations like this breed uncertainty.

2018-08-02 22:25:31 +0000 UTCThis is a Patreon issue, and they finally released a statement about it a little while ago. They're working to get it fixed they say: https://twitter.com/Patreon?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

2018-08-02 19:16:43 +0000 UTCSeems to depend a lot on the bank/card issuer. It happened to me last year, and I ended up using other cards instead and my pledges went through fine on them. On the other hand, the ones I still had on my old card (that had issues last time), got declined this time (luckily, didn't have a lot of pledges tied to that one). Sidenote: Patron support was completely useless last time it happened. I ended up having to just drop all the pledges and repledge to fix it.

2018-08-02 19:08:19 +0000 UTCFair enough. It's probably the fact that Patreon messed with their bank accounts that's affecting you just like everyone else then. I'm sure they'll get it sorted, but I really wish they'd let us know these things are coming down the pipe, and keep us informed when something goes wrong.

2018-08-02 17:57:33 +0000 UTCBut visa did it because of the bank change on Patreon's end, or was it a different issue? I kind of wish Patreon would release a statement, let us know what's going on so everyone isn't just stewing and trying to figure out what is going on. The above is the basics of what I've been able to piece together from a bunch of people I follow, what they've had to say, and what a couple of Patrons have said to me from their own experiences. I started getting messages related to this last night.
