My get up and go, got up and went.

Haven't posted any progress reports the last two days, so I thought I should remedy that now.

I realized that I have been spending much more time working the last few weeks than previously.  On the surface, that's a good thing, unfortunately it also means it's been cutting pretty heavily into my time with my kids.  My kids are the most important thing in the world to me, and it kind of broke my heart to realize that I've brushed them off a couple of times recently so I could work on something that in hindsight could have waited a little longer.  Pretty soon, they'll be back in school and I'll have plenty of time to work.  In the meantime, instead of taking one day a week off of work (Or the last couple of weeks, a couple of half days.) I'm going to plan to take a couple of days off and plan for an evening walk with them every night.  After all, spending time with your children is the most precious gift you can give them.

So, yesterday:  brushed off work and spent time with my kids.

Today:  Spent the morning working through some bug reports, tried to help out with the paper doll code (Data entry is the biggest thing we still need to do for that still.) but had questions, so I sat that off to the side until I could get some help.  After that, I spent a couple of hours working on the new sponsored scene for Inheritance, . . . it's coming along nicely and is just a little over 3k words of content so far.

Tomorrow:  Going to spend time with the kids again.  Since my wife is working tomorrow, any work time would be fairly distracted anyway, so I'll use it as an excuse to do something nice with the kids.

Now, just because I'm being a deadbeat for a couple of days this week, doesn't mean I haven't got anything done.  This week, I've managed to finish up the last three scenes for The Therapist related to the John character I've been writing, I wrote a host of new gloryhole content for the same game, I worked through a fairly substantial list of minor bugs/spelling errors related to Wanton Cove and dealt with slightly smaller list related to Inheritance, I wrote a short story that I posted a couple of days ago that follows Eve and a Candy Store and posted it for supporters, did some prep work related to some additional conversation pieces with Mitsuko for Inheritance, and wrote a good bit of content today for the sponsored scene this month.  Not a stellar week, but still a good one.

Moving forward:

Tomorrow, I don't know what I'll be doing, but it's going to be focused on my kids, so don't expect a lot out of me tomorrow.

Sunday through Wednesday will be my usual work days where I'm a bit distracted since my wife is at work and I watch the kids.  Odds are one of those I'll make a family day.

Thursday and Friday will be work days, expect a lot of the progress reported this coming week to happen on those days.  Also we should have a new Wanton Cove build out on Friday.

Saturday & Sunday:  Promised my family I'd take them to the Fair that day, so going to be out most of the weekend, any time I have to work will likely be focused on any bug reports that might come in.

Short Version:

Working light next week, teaching my minions bad habits.  Following week minions return to school, will return to overworking myself for the foreseeable future.  ;)

Thanks. I know that my fondest memories as a kid weren't of the "things" I was given, but of the time my Dad spent with me. I always promised myself that my kid would be more important than work, because no amount of work, no matter the intentions, will make up for those little moments you can share with your children.

{ My kids are the most important thing in the world to me, and it kind of broke my heart to realize that I've brushed them off a couple of times recently so I could work } some people don't realize it in a matter of days or weeks, but a matter of decades. congrats on noticing a bad shift in priorities while you could still do something about it.
