Inheritance Progress Report 10/9/18

For a long time now, I've been saying we're going to get movement into the game so the girls will go about their business on their own. However there's always something else that's proven to be a higher priority, or coders end up going missing for weeks at a time. After someone asking why scenes are so hard to find, . . . for the third time this week already, . . . I realized that it was past time to do something about this. Since I personally don't know enough about coding to actually set it up myself, I decided to make scenes so they can appear without the girls actually being present.
With about 80 scenes affected by this, and many of those scenes appearing in more than one place (There are 39 interior locations in the mansion, and they average 10-15 scenes specific to Anna and/or Eve each.), there were a LOT of scene triggers to hunt up and change. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-500 of them. Today, I made it through the entire mansion changing those so that scenes will appear now so long as you have the stats to trigger the scene and the time of day is correct, regardless of if the girl(s) in question is present.
This is a pretty big deal. No more summoning girls to a location every time you want a scene to appear there, no more wandering empty halls while the girls remain wherever you last left them.
What else did I accomplish?
-Had a list of minor bugs for this AND Wanton Cove. I worked through all of that today as well. Not a lot there, two small issues with Wanton Cove and about half a dozen for Inheritance. Took me about 45 minutes in total to run down everything.
-Had a set of images that were commissioned last month that I didn't quite have time to add before the last build of Inheritance. Added background images for Kitchens, Laundry Area, Lounge, Servant's Area, and Storage Area today.
-Talked with the artist who is doing the background art for the game today. We worked out some details and they're hard at work on four more locations for the game. I'd consider it likely that those locations will have art by the next build of the game (New build should be up on the 26th, and the artist has always been very prompt with their work.) and even if they somehow don't finish them by then, they'll appear in the following build for sure.
-Worked out some details for this month's sponsored scene. Have a rough outline of what I want to accomplish, just need to write it now
In all honesty, I accomplished everything I set out to do today plus a little more. I was worried that I was being a little over ambitious with my plans and that I'd be wrapping things up tomorrow. Pretty pleased with today's progress.
The rest of this week:
-Tomorrow, going to work on the sponsored scene for this month. Got something little to reflect the the upcoming Halloween holiday in the works even if it's not specifically a holiday event.
-Thursday: Will be trying to finish up the sponsored scene, and write some smaller stuff for the game. Also will be adding any submitted work if we get anything this week.
-Friday: Write as I am able, then rolling out the new Wanton Cove build in the evening.
