On board the Dawn Rise Captain Randal sat in his chair as he said, “Target the enemy ship and prepare to disable them, part of our orders are to deliver it to the research and development department after all.”

“Eye captain.” The weapons officer said as they started to target Spector with their distortion cannons.

“Captain, I'm getting strange readings from that ship.” The sensor officer suddenly said.

“Report, I thought you said before that you were unable to scan its interior.” Captain Randal asked.

“That’s correct captain, however I was still able to scan its external structure such as dimensions and the energy it was releasing.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

“Well the sensors are beginning to fail in detecting the ship whatsoever and its energy output just vanished.”

“How is that possible, do we have a malfunction?”

“Captain the viewscreen.” Another officer said with surprise before the sensor officer could reply.

As Randal turned to the viewscreen he witnessed the image of the ship before it started to become wavy and blurred before it suddenly vanished.

“What the hell.” Randal said in alarm as he stood up while asking, “Where the hell did it go?”

“Unknown captain, my sensors are failing to detect any sign of the ship.”

“Did it jump to FTL?”

“Impossible our EMP interference is still operational.”

“Could it be cloaking tech?”

“Only scientific ships are allowed cloaking tech by universal senate law.”

“Then what else could it be?”

“Stop making needless speculations and find them.”

“Yes sir.”

The chat watched in astonishment as the stream view switched to an external image of Spector just as it started to become wavy and blurred before it suddenly vanished.

[SciFifanboy (Earth): OMFG, THAT'S SO FUCKING SCI-FI, HIS SHIP HAS A DAMN CLOAKING DEVICE.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Oh my god.]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Did I just see what I thought I saw?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): No that's the problem, there's nothing to see.]

[Justiceistruth: (Earth): Nobody told us cloaking tech actually existed.]

[Handsome3horns: Because it’s seriously restricted tech.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Terrana 5): For once Handsome3horns is correct. Cloaking tech was developed several decades ago by the Dwarfinian’s, a race known for their technical advancements throughout history.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): After my race created the technology and presented it to the universe the universal senate deemed it too dangerous for military purposes and too risky  to be sold to the general public. Because of this it was decided that only scientific research ships and outposts can legally use cloaking technology to assist in their research.]

[Justiceistruth: (Earth): I bet the militaries of the different races still use it in secret however.]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): So why didn’t the streamer use the cloak when he was spying on the pirate base?]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Like he said, he didn’t want to reveal that his ship could cloak unless he had to, it seems the actions of the TISF forced his hand.]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): I don’t think he’s going to be too happy about that.]

[Fluffy_puppy_hugger (Caniniar 4): Agreed.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Is the streamer going to get in trouble for this? I mean his ship is not really a science vessel right?]

[OfficialRowena (Terrana 5): That’s difficult to say, the streamer comes from outside the known universe and therefore would have had no knowledge of this rule regarding stealth tech.]

[Lizziethetruepower (Palalxia): That might be so, however he’s now within the known universe and I don’t think many of the races will like him being able to use stealth tech on a military vessel when they can’t.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Is it a military vessel?]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): What sort of question is that, just look at its firepower.]

[MerceadAnderson (Palaxia): He has a point.]

[Sparesomechangebro (Earth): Streamer since you can turn invisible, go rob another bank and this time get me some change bro.]

“Plot the fastest course out of the EMP interference and engage.” 

“Affirmative.” Spector replied as she plotted the course and activated the anti-gravity drive to move away from the Dawn Rise.

“Did we seriously just cloak?” Stacey asked in equal parts amazement and excitement as she entered the cockpit and took her seat.

“Yup.” Adam replied.

“How is this ship so ridiculously advanced?”

“I’m afraid you are not authorized to know that?” Spector replied.

“Is my clearance level not high enough?” Stacey asked however Spector did not reply.

“So Diva Lorelie, since you're in chat why don’t you tell me about this job you're offering us?” Adam asked as Spector moved away from the Dawn Rise hadn’t moved.

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): It’s fairly simple really. I want you to transport me on your ship as I tour around the universe showcasing the new genre of music. Along with this your role will include providing me with protection from anyone or anything that might wish to do me harm.]

“Are you expecting trouble?”

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): For the most part no, however there is no telling if Drotas Entertainment will try something again.]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): I hope the owner of Drotas Entertainment has been arrested after evidence came to light of their actions against you?]

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): There has been no report of such an action as of yet. Drotas Entertainments headquarters are located on the Gobli home world and they have strong ties with the government, I expect they are being protected.]

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): The entertainment industry is not a nice place, there have been times where even I have had to be ruthless in order to survive both in the entertainment world and in life, while I will admit that I did not like doing it, There is probably not a Diva or famous celebrity alive who hasn’t had to be ruthless at least once in order to survive and get where they are today.]

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): The celebrity world might look all nice and sparkly to those looking at it from the outside because of the smiles we wear like clothes and how we treat our fans, but behind the scenes and away from the cameras it's a cut-throat world as there are always celebrities wanting to rise higher and willing to do anything to get on top while most companies you work with are only using you to make more credits and will toss you aside as soon as you stop making those credits. As someone who is a Diva and therefore at the top I know and have experienced this more than others.]

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): I forgot this important fact before and let my guard down when it came to Drotas Entertainment and it would have cost me my life if the streamer hadn’t saved me. They tried to get rid of me so they wouldn’t have to pay the early termination fee for breaking their contract with me all because their analysts said I was losing my popularity which would in turn stop them from making as many credits through me.]

[OfficialLorelie (Terrana 5): Now that I have released this new genre of music which is exclusively mine for The next 50 years, I highly doubt they will just let me go even though I have already terminated my contract with them under one of the clauses in it and that they wanted me killed only a few of weeks ago, I can make them credits now after all.]

[OfficialRowena (Terrana 5): And if it comes to it and they can’t persuade you to come back they will probably try to have you killed again.]

“For what reason?” Adam asked.

[OfficialRowena (Terrana 5): The exclusivity of the new music genre. Its 50 year rule is only in effect as long as Lorelie is alive, should she die then it becomes available to all.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): What sort of fucked up policy is that? Doesn’t that mean that anytime someone invents something new they're also putting their life on the line?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Terrana 5): You're correct. Take the Dwarfinian for example who created the cloaking tech. He was killed within 2 years of developing it and it therefore became public knowledge, or as public as the universal senate allowed since they stepped in.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): How does anything ever advance in the universe if everyone fears for their life?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Terrana 5): It’s not as bad as it’s being made out to be, in most cases what happens is that if the person who developed the product dies its ownership gets transferred to a family member while the 50 years exclusivity continues.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): What’s to stop a family member killing the creator to get the rights?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Terrana 5): The fact that if that were to happen they would become the prime suspect. While it doesn’t prevent all murders, the universal senate takes situations like this very seriously and conducts extensive and in depth investigations into any deaths of a patent holder to try and detour such action in the future.]

[OfficialRowena (Terrana 5): The issue here is that Lorelie doesn’t have any direct family the patent can pass too, she is an only child as her parents passed away when she was young. If Lorelie is killed then her new genre in music will become available for anyone to use.]
