Weak bridge, cliffhanging, hand slipping - Leather riding boots cross wet plank - hopes for rescue

I expected the plank of wood to buckle more and create it's own cracking effects but unfortunately things don't always turn out as expected. Does anyone else wish more ppl wore riding boots and skirts/shorts in public?
