Added 2022-05-15 12:35:41 +0000 UTCI just learned about the magic art of felting and made a moth! I tried to give her the same patterning and colour-way of my costume. I am going to use her for my video but I might also make a more humanoid version of her too. To be honest, and I always want to be honest with you, my rat attendants, I am having some writers block. I've got a lot of ideas about what I want my video to be about but no full script yet, if you have any advice on how to get past this stage, I will be very excited and scurry around the cage for you.

ok so, the reason I first became obsessed with moth girls is the popularity of the moth waifu meme. Maybe I need to stop focusing on literal real moths and think about why I found moth gfs so interesting. I feel like i'm not getting anywhere researching invasive species of moths. I liked how you described this dilemma, feeling like you bestowed on a creature the greatest miracle only to have them ask to die. I dunno if you have watched Full Metal Alchemist but there is kind of a situation like this, except way darker. I'm gonna rewatch that chapter to get inspiration. Thank you for always giving me great feedback! Also, I like what you said about death being the beginning of growth, very poetic.

2022-05-16 00:53:06 +0000 UTCI find the best way to get around writer's block is to remember what made you excited about an idea and construct a narrative that always keeps that in mind without going too out of the way. Sometimes I get too obsessed with figuring out the specifics of something that I can't see the reason why it mattered to me in the first place. Like following a single thread of a complicated pattern so long that you forget what the whole tapestry looks like. What made me excited for this idea of yours is the concept of mouths and speaking and the desire to connect with someone through the voice. It's ironic that the scientist wants the moth to have a mouth so it can live, but the moth uses the mouth to tell her she wants to die. Lack of communication is what always makes love hard to deal with. This sort of uncommunicating love is sort of poetic I think, because wanting someone to be free can often get in the way of them telling you that you're trying too hard or that you need to listen to what they want instead. Maybe the moth girl's death would be a tragic and confusing event that suddenly reveals itself to be something positive and worthwhile? The eggs she lays maybe, or some sort of angelic apotheosis, idk. We all live on in many ways after we die. Death is the beginning of growth and delaying it is an act of fear that leads to suffering so maybe that could be part of the message?

As far as your blockage goes, I looked at your brainsplosion from last time and I've got a couple of suggestions. Why does the scientist give the moth the ability to live longer? Just to see if she can? Or because she wants to keep the moth around? And how does the moth get her sense of agency back? What's it like to achieve your "hot moth summer" only to be saddled with the same appetites you had when you were an awkward, pudgy caterpillar? It's almost like another metamorphosis - who does she become now?
