Jan_Work in Progress 3

This should be the last Work in progress set I do for this month, with the following month being a more tactical expansion as well as a few good boy drone companions/weapons platforms.

I've got most of the preposed pieces set up, and you should be able to assemble quite a dynamic squad with everything that's included. All of the renders so far have been made with pieces from the spread~

I also hope everyone had/is having a good holiday break! I've been mostly relaxing with the family the past couple of days, and it's been a good re-coup~

I'll see you guys for a wrap up post on 2022, and the final renders/bits spread for this kit (name pending), but this should be pretty close to that as is, I'm not sure there's much I want to add to this one~

These are so gorgeous I want to cry!

Florian Wortmann

Fantastic, creative, and original model! Really good work Pipes!

Dwayne Negron

I'm definitely getting the Orca then! I was in love with the design, but wasn't sure just how big it was going to be. If it's roughly the size of a 1/100 Gunpla, I can work with that :D

Ranelpia

Yeah the unarmored tail is my favorite xD

Poyper

Yeah it's something I was messing around with, and I think I'll probably keep doing it with the green colors~

Poyper

So technically you can print/scale things as much as you'd like, granted the supports would need to be re-worked probably if it's anything more then 20%+/- usually. That said, The detail at larger scalings doesn't hold up that well with the more infantry scaled models. The Orca is about as large as a 1/100 scale gunpla give or take, with the sturgeon being closer to a 1/144 scale give or take. Some stuff will definitely scale better for that then others though.

Poyper

Are any of these fully scalable? Like, I love building Gunpla, and some of these parts would make great accessories and greebles for the kits, but I didn't realize that these were 28mm miniatures. Is something like the Orca the same thing, maybe slightly larger?

Ranelpia

Oh these are dope. I like the more. . . laffy taffy style tail.

AVKamfher

So we doing edge highlighting now? Very nice. These model are bangin'.

Big Dadi

Exactly. 👍

B. Griffith

Oeh, I sense possibilities to use the tail pieces as back arms in the 4-arm setup. Doctor Octopus, here I come!

Alexander

Canisters are just peak mecha design, and I really enjoy them xD

Poyper

Ooh! I love the tail variants!! And I really REALLY love the back cylinders!

B. Griffith

Yeah on any of the infantry scale kits (Goby/GhostShrimp/CardinalFish/etc), I try to do a bunch of useful preposed pieces. They're just too small to construct like the koi/larger mechs. Especially the held rifle poses. Way too much part clipping otherwise~ ~Pipes

Poyper

Yoji Shinkawa has been a big inspo for this one xD

Poyper

The tail feels very metal gear and its awesome!

Denis Proulx

These look really great, I absolutely love the different tail poses. From the image preview it looks like there are some pre-posed body with arms and guns which is amazing. I'm still trying to figure out how to pose my archerfish just right 😀.
