April_Work in Progress 3

Just another Work in Progress image set, most of the Eclipse half of TEOTH has been wrapped up. I'm working through the alt base undermount weapons currently, and we'll see where that goes~

Test printing a handful of the weapons at 1.0 and 1.3 scale to make sure they work with the existing undermounts (downscaling the koi weapons worked fine so I imagine it'll be good~)

There's gonna be a lot of ways to build this one, which is...kinda the goal xD

There's a size comparison and more on the discord

Yeah with this kit any of Eclipses undermount weapons scaled up by 1.3 will fit the existing undermounts. Basically everything is cross compatible with some scaling or the like, but there isn't a universal guide for that. I've tried making the more recent things more compatible, but it wasn't something I had planned out from the beginning so there's a mix and match of different scales between the different joints. Basically through the power of scaling in blender or similar, most things are possible, and the discord has a ton references or models of folks doing just that~ Scaling does tend to mess up magnet slots though if the piece has it. ~Pipes

Can you help a newb out, so I know what to shop for... You mention Koi a lot, and I know that's one of your models. But you say there is some cross compatible parts... But only if I scale. Can I scale by 1.3 and this will fit a Koi? And vice versa? Are there others I could buy that would also fit? I know some of the other mounts have magnets, so not sure about that. Is there a grand scale chart?

Physical will never look as clean and crisp as a render. If the wider part was a flat plane instead of a full bulge, it might be easier to print in transparent and paint the flat part for good highlighting.

Omg the heads... so good :D

Lancer mechs - particularly Shermans, Tokugawas, Saladins, or even just Everests

Question for the community, Piper please don't answer. What are you proxying this as?

Big Dadi

They're looking great. My only reservation is thd round energy swords. Whilst they look really cool, it can be really hard to paint them satisfactorily as the part which should be brightest is in the middle of the model part, and there are no edges you can fade it out to. You can obv print then in clear/transluscent resin, but that usually doesn't have that really bright intense energy look on it's own. It'd be really great to have a flat energy sword option too.

https://imgur.com/a/ZdQOzYT It turns out pretty well, and I just used my own test supports upscaled with 0 issue for the koi/commander slots, so I imagine Atlas' supports will be even better xD ~Pipes

This is looking great. Sad I'm going to have to resize everything to print it at Koi scale, but it all looks so good. Really liking that new Brrrt Canon design. definitely going to have to see how that turns out.

The long horned heads are 300% epic.

Beam sabres and 4-eyes... This will be the kit I keep ready to print as test models...

Making the EVA's using this model. Also liking the LONGEST head.

I do really like cables and myomar and the like, but it was never really prevelat on the source material, but I'm glad I started adding it in to these later kits~

FiveStarStories lives in my head rent free.

I really like the ribbon cables on the backs of arms and legs you've been adding to the last several kits. They make a really good spot to paint a bright contrasting color to add even more visual interest and balance to the paint scheme.
