New scale metrics: Center of Gravity

I had a brief conversation with user u/howaboot on reddit. They had calculated all the centroids for heptatonic scales, and shared the results with me; and I noticed it is a generalization of what I had previously written about "balanced" scales. A balanced scale is one where the "centrifuge problem" was solved, meaning center of gravity is in the exact center of the unit circle. But what about scales whose center of gravity is *near* the center, but not quite exactly? What does it matter if a scale is just a little wobbly, or completely tippy?

I've enhanced the website with a new section that shows a diagram of the CoG, along with some numeric stats about it.

What does this have to do with music? I don't know. Do scales with a CoG at high or low distance from the center have more or less musical usefulness? It roughly compares with evenness... but I have no answers. I have a ton of data! If anyone feels motivated to explore scales and their balance points, now the deets are out there. Enjoy.
