Lots of progress lately. I've spent lots of time fixing the calculation engine, getting the tooling moved to a new Linux server where I'll be running everything remotely; no more crunching data here on my macbook, it's all happening in the cloud baby! This was long overdue.
Among other things I added some simple methods to get "Pressing Scales", and those are being added to the book in a chapter that lists a few various "scale candidacy" schemes. Ie systems that should tell us if a scale is apt for musical usage or not. There are quite a few of those that bleed into other topics of the book, but some are distinct enough that they can all live in a separate chapter.
Lots of work on the section about modes, and I think that is going to need expansion so that I can adequately address confusion over how that word has changed meaning over the centuries. Even today, contemporary theorists can't agree on a definition because there are rogue theorists out there publishing books using the word "mode" with an unorthodox meaning. Yes, I said "rogue theorists". I wish I was kidding about that.
