Twitter Musk: A Fragrance For Losers ft. Paris Marx
Added 2022-05-03 13:20:06 +0000 UTCThis week, Paris Marx (@parismarx), host of the Tech Won't Save Us podcast, talks to us about Elon Musk's near-take over of everyone's favourite website, and his vague plans to make all the features worse to, uh, own the libs? I guess? We talk about how Musk's purchase really does fortify the "Everything Is Posting" thesis and how Musk's Twitter is guaranteed to make everything more stupid than it already is.

When Phoebe described what she thought Elon Musk represented it just made me think of toxic masculinity.

2022-05-06 19:29:48 +0000 UTCRecovering LA driver here: Having something go wrong on a highway (fwiw, freeways are specific kinds of highways, and I honestly don't think 'freeway' gets used by almost anyone anymore) isn't certain death, but you are going to have a very bad time. Having your car suddenly brick itself on the highway is expensive and dangerous, but odds are better than even that you'll not even get hit. Mostly it just means having a very annoyed cop or, if you're lucky, other passing samaritan drag your car over to the shoulder and then waiting a couple hours to get a tow truck to your location. I don't think I'd go back to the same model of car if it had done that to me more than once, though...
