Poster's Potluck 3 ft. Alex Ptak

Friend of all the shows Alex Ptak (PtakTestKitchen) joins us on the pod, with some treats and delights to explain to us. On this episode, we talk about what it means to be a "wiseposter", Alex talks us through a weird tiktok channel making extremely low quality horror content that gives you the ick, and we round up by discussing one Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and his unique social media strategy of getting mad about things people enjoy about science. Also included: A long-ish discussion on how to get your own Wikifeet page.

Algorithm-battling bowdlerization aside, I think it's almost more insulting to call someone a poopy-face than a shithead, no?

To be clear, there are two types of American. Both of them are terrible to people online. The only difference is whether they call you a sh*thead or a shithead. I should know - I'm one of the second! Left to the reader is the exercise of determining whether I'm a shithead or I call people shitheads.

Oh apparently it's Shibtoshi, not @fibtoshi. Shibtoshi is Billy Markus, Jackson Palmer's former colleague. Obviously Billy Markus has stuck with the crypto grift while Jackson Palmer has not.

Regarding not swearing online: some platforms (especially but not exclusively YouTube) automoderate spicy comments, so one sometimes has to bowdlerize one's speech in order to avoid one's comment getting deleted by the algorithm. As I'm sure you know there's a similar phenomenon with TikTok users inventing new euphemisms in order to avoid getting shadowbanned (since on TikTok shadowbanning is actually a real thing).

I can't find the "How to make more Democrats/Republicans" tweet, and the (now anti-crypto) creator of DogeCoin, Jackson Palmer, is @ummjackson, not @fibtoshi, but fyi Jackson Palmer just started a podcast (called GRIFTONOMICS) so idk maybe you could do a collab with him! His first episode is with Molly White, who was recently on TRASHFUTURE, so he's already kind of in your network!
