It Was…10k posts’ Account ft. Jim Waterson
Added 2022-06-04 12:39:01 +0000 UTCThe Guardian's media editor Jim Waterson (@jimwaterson) joins us this week to talk about covering the "Wagatha Christie" trial, and what happens when Barristers working in the highest court of the land, don't understand what posts are, or how to decipher the meaning of a cry-laugh emoji. While the trial was fairly low stakes, Jim talks about how digital media is becoming central to understanding communications and correspondence in courts, and how understanding posts will be fundamental in the access to justice needed for any healthy democracy.

It’s so relevant to the topic of posting because of how unusable it’s made TikTok, but also just a deeply depressing thing that I’m very glad it’s not being discussed here. On a lighter note “poster’s court” where social media beef gets hashed out in person and then a judge rules on who’s in the wrong would make an appalling/amazing podcast/tv show that I would simultaneously decry every day on Twitter and secretly watch *every single episode* of
