Welcome to another edition of the Ten Thousand Posts Film Club!
This week, we review the 2010 film "The Social Network", directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin. We discuss whether the film correctly predicted the ideological problems of Facebook that are dominant in the discourse today, as well as the stuff that the film misses (spoiler: surveillance!) as it chooses to focus on the problems that rich boys have with each other. We also talk about the weird phenomena of the Double Armie Hammer, the strange one liners that constantly appear on the Winklevoss Twins' Instagram page, and the weird scene that seems to gloss over the ghoulishness of Peter Thiel. Hence, we get to our fundamental conclusion: The Social Network and Joker (2019) are the same film.
Ten Thousand Posts is a show about how everything is posting. It's hosted by Hussein (@Hkesvani), Phoebe (@prhroy) and produced by Drew (@drewtopia_).
