The Azealia Banks attempted drag was totally deranged and straightforwardly just wrong on multiple levels. She's always been trying to chase the "apartheid Clyde" thing but anyone accusing The 1975 of trying to rip off DFA1979 (the only conceivable similarity being the presence of a year in the name of the band) obviously hasn't listened to a second of either one

Would Chuck Tingle qualify as a harmless kook importantly, how is there not an episode on Chuck Tingle? An icon of our age

makes me think of "apocalypticism" in the specific and original meaning of the word - not "apocalypticism" as in being about end times, but about revelations intended to shift ones belief system, theologically or otherwise. the way Christianity as an apocalyptic religion (again, not as in telling about the end of the world but instead about revelations, specifically that Jesus Christ is Gods son and brings everyone salvation etc) has become so thoroughly entrenched in the general psyche, whether religious or not, explains perfectly why so many people are chomping at the bit for mytho-historical revelations. i dont think the text Annie brought up about "humans naturally having this instinct and why its hampering us in the digital age" is really complete as an idea, and rather tracing it back to the influence of apocalypticism and Christianity is much more complete, or could be made more complete with a study in this history for a primer look at Esoterica Channel on Youtube, go to his scholarly video series about Jewish Mysticism and listen to the intro episode as well as the 2nd, which is specifically about "apocalypticism" as i've tried to relate it
