We talk to Ed Ongweso Jr (co-host of TMK and columnist at The Nation) about his recent essay on the deification of generative AI by the tech guys competing to determine who gets to control its development. Ed explains how either choice disregards the labour needed to build the systems in the first place, and how the end point of either direction ends with yet more exploitation of everyone forced to use it.
