This week, just the lads have an in-depth discussion about Ondi Timoner's 2009 documentary 'We Live In Public', charting the course of early internet pioneer Josh Harris, an artist who, in the late 90s, created an installation that housed 100 members of the public in a hyper-surveilled 3-storey loft in New York- highlighting the loss of privacy that technology and the internet brought with it.

I was 7 when Y2K was going on, I very distinctly remember watching people drive around with giant water tanks attached to their trucks sloshing around to "be ready". My parents explained it to me and they didn't seem worried. But I do remember some sort of unclenching when we saw the fireworks go off in London on the tv and we could go "oh great the lights didn't go out." Suffice it to say while yeah 9/11 (etc) overshadowed Y2K it was a MASSIVE deal at the time.
