Big fan of the show, long time listener first time poster just wanna say tho that Monumental L take on Phoebe’s part about posting being useless and virtual signaling. We in the west have these lofty ideas that we can shut out the reality because of mental health and all that. Granted, getting your news is just bad and cringe as simping for the BBC but so many Palestinians journalists risk their lives to show you what western governments are doing in your name.

2023-11-11 16:54:54 +0000 UTCPhoebe's concept of "consuming atrocity" really got to the heart of what makes me instinctively and strongly recoil from any kind of 'breaking news' alerts on phones and following a conflict 24/7. :/ Anyway, Roisin, I really liked The Disconnect - read it during a very depressing jury duty and am looking forward to the next one.
