It occurs to me that the anxiety and sensitivity to our posts being discovered is very very similar to the anxiety a lot of christians feel about getting into heaven, particularly in the evangelical tradition where you're taught young that god knows every sin you've ever committed. Eg he's got a book full of your tweets and every Facebook status you've ever posted.
