Please do a tumblr part 2! It's such a different posting ecosystem & so much of what happened on mid 10s tumblr was a precursor to what would happen elsewhere years later. Also someone talk about the 9chag image. That's modern Nostradamus right there

Was concerned before I listened to the preview that it would be disparaging, but needn't have been. I've been on tumblr for about a decade now and it's staying power as my social media of choice astounds, like Allegra says in the ep, it's been a weird constant in my life through a lot! Anyway it's so nice to see tumblr being taken seriously enough to properly analyse it, because its kindof just a joke to those who don't use it for a while now, but I genuinely think its contributed a great deal to online culture, good and bad. I see posts word for word stolen, or screenshots of text posts from the day before, or tweets identical to a joke or discouse I witnessed the birth of on it go round on twitter all the time. and yet its seen as a dead platform really. I'd love to hear more episodes about it in the future, because I love the cerebral discussion, but of course there are SO many iconic, hilarious, awful posts from there ripe for discussion that haven't been off the site. suckingham phallus
