Poster's Potluck 5: Endtimes
Added 2022-11-25 10:01:56 +0000 UTCAt time of recording, the general consensus was that this could well be the end of twitter, so what better time to gather your friends and have ourselves a poster's potluck? Everyone brings a tweet or two for the table, we kick back to discuss and analyse why these tweets are worth highlighting, or perhaps are even worthy of inclusion in the hall of fame. This time: Joyce Carol-Oates wonders if there's any joy in ISIS culture, Liam Payne's 2013 worries about snake habitats, and much more!

Pinterest is the least social of social media. It almost feels inaccurate to group it with the rest because it lacks the main functions of one (starting discourse, following your friends, stalking people.) Pinterest is a more organized version of having hundreds of tabs open that you will never look at but also never delete. Since almost no one makes capital-P Posts, who you follow is determined by whether or not you like their pile of links. Anything you know about them you gather from the evidence like a TV detective. As a regular user it doesn't surprise me that Pinterest is a successful network, but I can also see why people wouldn't think so because I have never discussed my Pinterest with anyone or had them bring theirs up.
