Well, I mainly learned from looking at animation production character sheets. And I personally like adding a touch of “sketchbook” flare to it. Other than being rock solid on what you want the character to look like, presenting the basic range of emotion and poses for the sheet is the most important things to checklist. Making everything VISUALLY represented on the page is more crucial than using words to describe their personality. Words are used to explain what you couldn’t visually express. Simplify the final product to the point the anyone looking at it for the first time can understand and use it as reference immediately. You want it to be eye catching, stand out uniquely, and just be interesting.
