BATTLE ANGEL ALITA con sketch, from TCAF 2014

A decent if not terribly dynamic B&W con sketch of Alita—or Gally, if you prefer—from 2014, which was just before I switched over to the two-color commission format. In fact, I've drawn her fairly often for con sketches over the last decade or two; I'll post more of 'em in the future, never fear.
Dang, that's quite the endorsement! Looking forward to checking it out at home, whenever the heck the Blu-Ray comes out.

This makes my heart so happy~ I'm debating an Alita piece at HeroesCon (or maybe Sechs), as I'd love see your post-life drawing brought into it. Sad to hear you didn't get to the film in theatres, it was a great speculate (I went twenty times). Truly a great adaption.

Gotta say, the highlights that Yukito Kishiro draws are notably more delicate and complex; they're well worth trying to emulate, IMHO, tricky as they can be to render.

I'm hoping to hit that up next year, as it's been rather a while since I attended.

Nope, haven't seen that yet, as the movie came out when I was still struggling with wrapping up EMP11 and had no time for the (cue fancy voice) cinemah.

I like how you did the reflections in her hair! I can never get that right.

Heh, that's cute. This pic made me wonder if you had a chance to watch the movie and what you thought about it. X)
