MediBang Paint brush test, using BATTLE ANGEL ALITA facial studies
Added 2019-05-19 18:50:40 +0000 UTCWill be doing an illo of Yuhkito Kishiro’s ALITA—or Gally from GUNMM, if you prefer—shortly, so I thought I’d do some tests of the various brushes available in the art app MediBang Paint (iOS version) based on faces from the manga. I really do enjoy the oddly misnamed “pencil” brush, and have been cranking out a whole bunch of comic roughs using it. As I plan to do a lot more digital experimentation in the months to come, I’ll probably post a bunch of that stuff here—well, unless the results really look crappy, that is.
UPDATE: No idea why the pic is so blurry, as it’s from a pretty sharp iPad screencap. Can’t seen to do attachments in this version of the Patreon app, either. Hrmmm. Will need to experiment more with this format if I’m gonna be uploading digital-only work.

2019-05-21 22:44:36 +0000 UTCWahh, this makes me so happy! I feel like you got the Kishiro feel down on a few of those but the top left is my favorite. I'll have to give this app a look-see, though my tablet seems pretty horrible for digital drawing of any kind so far.
