Elaborate

Assorra with a really pretty, elaborate hairdo. I woke up yesterday and I just... I wanted very badly to draw her with a pretty hairdo that looks elegant yet lowkey kinda intimidating. The kind of hairstyle that makes you sit up straight and fake manners cos you realize that you’re dealing with a powerful woman 😂😂😂

Anyway so!!! Y’all know how Segun and her don’t really get along, yeah? How she isn’t particularly fond of him and he lowkey dislikes her even tho he kinda needs her to solidify his reign when the time comes for him to ascend the throne? Well, since Sora isn’t bothered by these things, she does the only thing that makes sense in such a situation. Which is to essentially withdraw and avoid Segun.

Now, this is just not at all how a lady acts in their society. There is a bit of a “glorification of suffering” thing that people praise in the kingdom, but as u all know, Sora is just not interested in that. So she starts to avoid her fiancé, arrive late to their meetings, acts aloof and distant whenever she HAS to be around him etc etc. And Segun would never admit it but it is literally driving him bonkers. After all, most of his life, people have been reverent of his abilities and power. It simply makes no sense for someone to NOT cater to him.

How is all this relevant to this post? Bc when I was drawing her hairstyle I was thinking that she’s probably attending a ball at the royal palace and she went in there STYLING. Complete with makeup and everything. But there are subtleties with what she chose to wear. Bright heavy makeup, an extremely stylish hairdo adorned with lots of jewels and decorations, and a dress that’s far too gorgeous. What does that communicate to society? Well considering that a woman that is about to be married is expected to be subdued and elegant,,, how she pulled up to the ball was controversial to say the least 😂😂
