The dream that Assorra had was accompanied by a strange being. The being was the one that facilitated that experience, and it was that being that told Sora how and why she came to be in Assorra’s body. That was a devil. That was a demon. But this being had not been in the novel before. They had never been mentioned, shown or even referenced. And this being created a humongous problem for our heroine Sora. This being told her that her actions, while they were promising so far, were not going to actually stop what Assorra would eventually do. This being never really disclosed WHY they seemed to be invested in the story or in a positive outcome for everyone else. Especially bc they were a freaking demon.
What this being did was essentially combined the “separate” entities of Sora and Assorra by allowing Sora to live the entire experience of Assorra FROM BIRTH. Experience the exact thought process that that messed up woman had in the decisions she made in regards to treating people. The exact feelings. Everything. Finally, all at once, Sora was Assorra, and Assorra was Sora. Sora could no longer say that she was not Assorra. She could no longer objectively evaluate Assorra’s feelings and actions and criticize her. Because she was now her. They were indeed now one and the same. And the demon said that this would be relevant in preventing what the future could bring. I mean, does that even make sense ?? 😂😂😂 well it will after I introduce the true villain and that villain’s agent.
IF!!! I was telling this story in a proper chronological order, I promise everything I am saying would somewhat make sense. IF I were to show you exactly how the characters were interacting and the decisions that Sora made in that regard as well as the way they would differentiate from Assorra’s decisions, it would make sense. But that’s a lot more work than I can put in rn, and I got a hold of inspo yesterday and as it is well known that I have very poor self-control, here I am, confusing you entirely. Well, anyway, all you have to take away from this post is Sora is no longer separate from Assorra, there’s a new character who was never mentioned in the book at all, and the original story’s happy ending was nothing more than an idealized version of events. People’s stories simply do not always end with a “happily ever after”
