So. What happened to Sorra after having experienced Assorra’s life? What were the consequences for essentially merging these two separate people?
Well, The simple answer is, an identity crisis!
Sorra no longer felt like she was herself. She no longer felt like an outside observer into a convoluted story. She felt like a very prominent element in that story, and that was greatly crippling her ability to make decisions that were logical according to her, because she was no longer truly her. The decisions were no longer so easy, because she was thinking about things from Assorra’s biases. And this made her immediately reel back and panic about who was really making the decisions. She found herself thinking overly critically about the people around her that she had previously not really cared about before. She found her taste in clothing and food kind of shift a bit, more towards Assorra’s taste. The worst part, she began to see Assorra—the true Assorra— in her reflection. Sora was essentially losing her sense of identity.
It all came to a bit of a head when she had to go meet Segun. Normally she would go waste time with Sunny in the garden until she couldn’t waste any more time, but this time, she went straight to the prince. She did not make him wait. Segun ofc had began to investigate things very seriously in regards to her now. In his head, he had decided that Assorra was planning something terrible and nothing anyone could say would convince him otherwise tbh. But the moment that Assorra walked into the drawing room and stood before him, Segun just... knew. He just somehow knew that the Assorra that he had always known and that had suddenly disappeared one day was back to a degree. From the way she was standing, to the way her sharp eyes were scrutinizing him. He knew it. And he said it. He didn’t even know that he did. He simply said, “Assorra. You’re back.”
And this was like, a final straw for Sora. Cos she knew what he meant. It meant that there was no longer any Sora because everyone was seeing Assorra now. And that sent her into a genuine panic. She ran away from the drawing room and desperately ran into the nearby forest. Ironically enough, that was the only thing that Assorra would have never done. Assorra would have never ran away.
