ECCC 2020 promo illo w/ Emp & Ninjette, plus rough sketch

This promo illo for the fast-approaching Emerald City Comic-Con was posted by the con's Twitter account earlier this week, so I thought I might as well post the work stages here, too.

Note that the idea is that Emp is freaking out about the looming event, whereas 'Jette isn't, or at least not in the same manner as Emp. Kozue is likewise saying "AAAAAAA" in Japanese hiragana form, which would of course sound the same; BTW, that kana is based on the default font used in (untranslated) manga, which for some reason I utterly adore.

The original version was supposed to be slated for the "14 days out from ECCC" date, as you might notice from the rough:

...but at the last moment my slot in the schedule was moved, so I had to hastily patch in "23 days" instead of the "14" on the original artwork.

Wound up killing two birds with one stone by designating this illo's original as my contribution for ECCC's charity auction (for, IIRC, a children's hospital dealie, I think). If you're attending the con in March and want a cheap piece of original art—as I doubt that demand on this illo will be terribly high—you might keep an eye out for the auction!
