Needed a post I could put up as quickly as possible, so here we go!
Since I posted the nine pages of my Procreate digital roughs for the Marvel one-shot Venom: The End a while back, I decided, "Why not post a few more?" And lo, here are my Procreate-app thumbnails for pp.10-19 of the 30-page, eons-spanning, SF-infused epic, featuring a prominent appearance by an iteration of the uploaded Tony Stark from Iron Man: Hypervelocity!
Note: I'm more than a tad dubious about posting very much recent Marvel content on this Patreon, hence my choice to avoid mentioning in public what project these roughs are from.
I swear that I'm not fond of of doing such insanely tight and restrictive page roughs, given how little "play" they give an artist to work with. But as Venom: The End's sprawling narrative was rife with abstract concepts and montages—and even abstract montages!—I felt I had no choice but to roll with such very, very specific layouts. Along those same lines, the script for this 30-pager was a ginormous 92 pages(!) long, due to having to explain all the g-d novel concepts and settings appearing with each new page.
In fact, the grueling experience of scripting, laying out, and shepherding this single one-shot to its complication-heavy conclusion changed my mind about a long-planned future SF-comic pitch (that is, Project X); more on that subject later.
I'll likely post the rest of these digital page roughs down the road, if y'all wanna see 'em.
No time to write commentary on these, other than to point out that this last page:

...is a hyper-obscure homage to my favorite John Buscema page from How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way:

Tomorrow: Another DiD Wednesday post for the $5 tier concludes the inconclusive story of "Angel vs. Shortie!"
