In addition to the July art requests I posted earlier today, over the weekend I also cranked out a trio of Hushed Half-Elf sketch sets as further experiments with working digitally. Behold the fruits of my slowly, ever-so-slowly evolving efforts in the iOS art app Procreate!
The four-sketch set above is arguably the best of the lot, as I continued playing with different brushes and settings. The close-up at lower left is a riff based on the character designs of an artist I really like; who could it be? The image at upper right is a particularly sad moment from the oft-separated lead couple’s tragically ill-starred relationship, as the Half-Elf’s mage girlfriend suffers alone. (Gotta say, the Big Emo content I’ve worked up for this star-cross’d pair is the main reason I’m even remotely considering further development of this superficially goofy premise.) The "two-shot" of 'em at lower right is an interesting bit of messing around with the blending tool; I like the effect, accidental as it might be.
Next up, another, less successful set, this time using a vivid background color with a technique emulating my analog work with toned paper:

And finally, a B&W set using gray as a background tone, along with a few new brushes being tried out, as well as some random character design variations:

Note that these sketches technically count as art requests, due to some kind feedback I've gotten on HHE. Howeva, they don't quite count as "damsel in distress" material, due to only marginal bondage elements. (Never fear, DiD aficionados, you'll be getting your weekly dose on Wednesday!)
