Let’s talk a little more about the main character, Assorra. Who is she? What’s her deal? What’s happening.
So Tldr this girl called Sora died and woke up in the body of a villainess from a relatively stereotypical romance novel she just read and loved to hate. The villainess is called Assorra Nishine, and was what everyone knew to be the at the very top of the social ladder. As the only daughter of a Duke for a very long time, she was a very well-trained lady who never made any mistakes in the social world and was objectively seen as a “perfect” woman. But in reality, she had her own problems.
For a majority of her life, she had been trained as both a proper lady and to inherit her father’s title because as far as anyone knew she was the only child of the Duke. So she’s had the strain of two very heavy titles on her for years upon years, and she’s done outstanding work balancing and maintaining them, but at the cost of genuine relationships and methods of interaction. People crowd around her bc she’s powerful, not because they care or want to get to know her. Likewise, she uses people for her own means and in turn has earned resentment from many people.
That was all well and good, until the shocking discovery of Asare Nishine, an illegitimate son her father had with someone and who had stayed hidden for many years until recently. That marked the beginning of the end for Assorra, and the downward spiral of everything. Because her father now had a male heir, she was removed as the official heir. All her years of hard work and balancing, down the drain. Then the whispers behind her back began. A reputation that had been flawless starts tearing at the seams. Then now she was relegated to her “duty” as a daughter, which is to marry someone of status for the future of the household. And that’s when like, Assorra Nishine as a person just cracked.
She had previously seen herself as an extremely exceptional person. As a woman, she was going to inherit the KwaNishine Duchy. She was going to be the first to have such power, and that was a goal she really was looking forward to. She had started to view herself as someone who would not be simply married off. But here she was, everyone so quick to undermine her hard work and shove her into her “role”. It was something she didn’t know how to handle. And after enduring extreme bottled-up stress, she fell ill and was unconscious for a minute. It was during this time Sora woke up in her body, and now has to inherit the screwed up legacy of Assorra the lioness that sits upon the snow-peaked mountain.
