DISTRESSED DAMSELS: DANDELION HAIR vs. DRONE crossover story fragment!
Added 2020-09-16 14:28:33 +0000 UTCDrawn at some point in the early 2000s, here's yet another incomplete commissioned story fragment in proto-Empowered comic format, this time featuring Dirty Pair's Kei tangling with a drone from Kenichi Sonoda's Cannon God Exaxxion manga (for which I did the English-language rewriting on the Studio Proteus/ Dark Horse Comics translated version, back in the fabled day).
As these pages were never intended for publication, I felt free to pump up the cheesecake level quite a bit higher than seen in a "real" DP story, as the "Escher girl" poses, whimsically waspy waists and, ah, bouncy version of Kei shows:
Note also that I reused a punch of these poses in other commissioned stories (or possibly reused 'em from earlier stories, TBH), as you'll eventually see. Given that these commissions were going out to different patrons, I felt free to reuse successful drawings willy-nilly; in fact, some of the better poses later wound up being reused in Empowered pages, IIRC.
I wasn't kidding about the "incomplete" part, either, as I never quite finished drawing the third page:
Presumably some actual comics work or freelance deadlines intruded, and thus ended the story fragment—and, technically at least, a highly unofficial Dirty Pair/ Cannon God Exaxxion crossover!
TOMORROW ON THIS HERE PATREON: Not sure, but prrrrrrobably a few more sets of CSP sketches based on suggestions from the $10 & $20 tiers.
