DISTRESSED DAMSELS: "Rose & Lily's Magic Act", circa 2001

As seen below, I recently dug up what looks like an unfinished (and hence especially sketchy) con sketch from the early 2000s, featuring a hapless Kei and Y—er, Rose and Lily—running afoul of a sinister magician whilst sporting the classic Yoshikazu Yasuhiko "chrome shorts" costumes:

Dig those whimsical proportions on the foreground Rose, folks!

Not long after, though (judging by the character designs), I started a DiD commissioned comic (in proto-Empowered format) fleshing out that concept in a bit more detail:

The next page was scanned from a photocopy, hence the higher contrast and poor(er) repro quality:

Never finished the story, as the half-complete page below shows:

Recently, though, I figured out an approach that would've improved this goofy-ass scenario considerably, and cranked out a few sketchy pages along those lines; not sure if I'll post said update on a future Wednesday, or show it to the Big Spenders for their monthly exclusive post. Ooh, the suspense!

TOMORROW ON THIS HERE PATREON: Something in the Work Stages vein, perhaps?

Great upload, Adam! I rather enjoy magician themed captors :P For them, it's especially about the spectacle and showmanship, so there's a fun bit of extra ham and humiliation for the damsels while he makes them part of the act, particularly if an audience is present

Lookin forward to those sketchy pages!

DID stuff aside -- never thought those words would come from my hands -- I enjoy seeing Rose and Lily. It makes me wish that a comic about two characters who were definitely not, nor ever had been. K-- and Y---, was economically viable.
