Work stages (sorta) on EMPOWERED UNCHAINED's back cover
Added 2021-06-24 12:36:02 +0000 UTCBack in early June, I posted the work stages on my cover illo for Empowered Unchained, the 2015 trade paperback collecting all the Empowered one-shots written by me and drawn by series of excellent Guest Artists.
Wellp, to finish up Work Stages for the month, here's how the book's back cover illo came about.
As the deadline for wrapping up book's cover designs loomed, I knew that I needed to draw another Emp figure for the back cover illo; however, by happy coincidence (IIRC), back then the great artist Rob "Robaato" Porter had recently taken one of my Emp poses from Empowered vol. 8's opening recap pages (covering the events of vol.7)...
...and colored the pose just for the heck of it:
Or maybe I commissioned him to color it? Can't recall, alas, as 2015 was rather a while ago.
In any event, this was easier for me than drawing a new pose, so what the heck...
