DESIGN TUESDAY: Character designs for EMPOWERED vol.9, pt.2

For most of my time on Empowered, I would produce, at best, a quick sketch of a new character before drawing a comic page; often, in fact, I would just design new capes on the actual page. ("Just in time" character design, I suppose.)

However, Empowered vol.9 featured so many new characters during Emp's book-long run through a gauntlet of supervillains that I sat down and cranked out twenty-odd pages worth of chara designs before work on the main plotline got underway.

Wellp, here's the next set of said design sketches, along with jpegs of the characters' published appearances; note that both of the latter images are from Empowered vol.11, which offered clearer views of 'em.

Note that Stigmata Hari's appearance and power set likely descends from the sentient, "gen-active" blood I featured in my run writing Gen13 for Wildstorm; note also that an unused character design appears next to Pouchmasterin the final image of the gallery

Next week, more Empowered vol. 9 chara designs. Yay!
