DISTRESSED DAMSELS: EMPOWERED v.12 safari story, continued!

Months later, folks, I'm popping back to a rather chatty "paused" story from Empowered vol.12 and continuing to whittle away at the g-d thing. (My vision for the book has changed completely since I was initially working on this chapter, but I'll be dipped if I'm gonna contemplate tossing out 30-40 completed pages, even if they're narratively at odds with the rest of the volume.)

Anyhoo, as last seen in July 2020(!), a lengthy convo ended with Spooky asking Emp for permission to magically lift "the bondage curse" from her, knowing that Emp's massive overload of distress would be shifted back to dozens (if not hundreds) of other potential damsels across the universe(s). As we pick up here, Emp is clearly mulling the matter over. Yay!

TBH, I'm tired of conversation scenes right now and want to work on something more action-oriented, but will be revisiting this chapter every few weeks to keep advancing its ongoing narrative, which will roll on for at least another 10-12 pages.

TOMORROW ON THIS HERE PATREON: Very likely I'll post more from Empowered vol.12, this time featuring a very different story introducing the "Scary, Badass, Violent Emp" variation glimpsed here previously.

Emp's will is so strong, she really is an inspiration.

Oh I can see it now. his claw was throwing me off for some reason

The more realistic-look Emps in the bottom right of the first 2 pages really sticks out against her more usual look.

That goon and the cherub dude are both taking phone pics. His pincer hands might look like something he's holding if you don't zoom the image.

I think this might tie into the alternate version of Emp that factors in... I've said it before: I really appreciate how Adam Warren recognizes that true heroes don't act like John Matrix. Badass = Macho Slaughterer.

In the bottom left of the fourth page. What's the feather helmet goon holding?

JKurt

Those are 4 really nice looking pages.

Yeah - despite the pain and humiliation the fact that she turns away from the temptation to quit and suits up the next day, with no promise that things will improve is Emp's greatest superpower.

It’s Emp’s perseverance I’ve always admired the most about her character. No matter what, good/bad, win/lose, she’s always doing her best.
