VINTAGE CON SKETCHES: More 2012-era Canadiana!
Added 2021-03-26 13:00:04 +0000 UTCThe last dozen or so images in my old CON SKETCHES folder include a bunch of 2012-13 pieces drawn in Canada during, I think, the TCAF and FanExpo Toronto shows. I didn't have my own smartphone pix of 'em for some reason, so my bud Jim Zub sent along his own phone pix. Alas, that means the image quality for this gallery isn't the best, though I nonetheless like this set quite a bit.
Note that the first sketch...
..is a reference to the thoroughly bat-crap video for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's song PonPonPon.
The Emp piece is a pretty good one, IMHO:
Note that, not long after this, I shifted con sketch format from B&W to the two-color format I still use today.
And the last piece is a sketch of a Lizard Wizard OC, based on the commissioner's at-convention cosplay; alas, I can't easily access the phone pic I used for reference. (Perhaps I should show this to the player in my D&D campaign who rocks a Dragonborn Sorcerer.)

KPP's kept doing weird music videos; I'm partial to Sai & Co and Kimino Mikata. She also did a bunch of Japanese commercials which are exactly as weird as you'd expect. I still have the little jingle she did for Glico brand Pucchin Purin (some sort of pudding) stuck in my head.
