DISTRESSED DAMSELS: "Rose & Lily vs. SmileyBot" revisited, circa 2018!

So, a month ago, I put up a Distressed Damsels post that featured an early-90s rough sketch intended to set up a never-completed commission of the Dirty Pair: A Plague of Angels StealthBot distressing Vintage iterations of poor Kei and Yu-- nay, Rose and Lily:

Wellp, for a long-time (small-P) patron who was cool with the literally-as-opposed-to-figuratively "sketchy stuff," I revisited the concept circa 2018, but with Rose & Lily in the Yaz "chrome hot pants" original DP costume:

As before, I barely bothered to sketch in the SmileyBot, since neither the commissioner nor I especially cared about the mecha.

If you do wanna see a fully rendered, Empowered-format comic depicting the SmileyBot in mo' detail, here's part 1 and then part 2 of a story pitting a gun-toting but still hapless Lily against that darn mecha.

I'm guessing these were drawn circa 2018, as Rose & Lily were starting to get notably curvier and fuller-figured, though not quite as curvy as I draw them nowadays:

The unseen SmileyBot displays impressive duct-tape application skills, as seen in the third, Lily-only sketch set:

Also impressive that the unseen SmileyBot was able to wrap tape around Rose's head without fouling her earrings:

(I'm unsure whether the Takachiho-novel earrings were comlink devices like the ones seen in 1985 TV series, though.)

I'm almost certain that a fifth sketch-set page from this effort exists, but I haven't yet been able to dig it up. If I do, I'll tack that onto a future DiD post. Speaking of which:
