LIFE DRAWINGS FROM PHOTOREFERENCE #182: More of 2019's early Procreate sketch sets!
Added 2023-05-08 13:00:04 +0000 UTCFrom the 2019 era of experimentation in the iPad art app Procreate, here are a pair of (mostly) photoreference-based sketch sets from early on in my digital explorations. At this point I was still using Procreate's admittedly "mushy-looking" Medium Airbrush to get something onto the g-d tablet:
That main figure appears to be a Ninjette variant based on the poster from the then-recent Battle Angel Alita movie; that head at upper right is another Ninjette variant sketch clearly based on a Mirka Andolfo (Sweet Paprika) profile drawing that I liked.
I've been rolling with single images for Life Drawing posts of late, but as these early Procreate sets can sometimes be quite weak, I'm doubling up for this particular post:
The next few sets are notably better, I should say, though you won't be seeing another 2019-era post until later in the month or even next month. (I'm hoping to work up a brand-new Clip Studio Paint set for our next Life Drawing post, but we'll see.)

Ehh, not so much messy as "mushy," with the airbrush by its nature lending the art a kinda cloudy, indistinct, outta-focus quality. (Still, worked better for me than any of Procreate's pencil or pen tools.)
