LIFE DRAWINGS FROM PHOTOREFERENCE #188: From 2019, another set drawn in Procreate!
Added 2023-07-24 13:00:09 +0000 UTCFrom my 2019 era of experimentation in the iPad art app Procreate, here's another sketch set derived from a mix of random photoreference. At this point I was still using Procreate's admittedly "mushy-looking" Medium Airbrush to get something onto the g-d tablet:
Note that the image at lower right is not from photoref, but rather a study based on an illo from the great Ben Caldwell, whose art I admire greatly—especially his color work, which is far beyond anything I'll ever attempt. With this pic, I was trying to emulate the mixture of stylized and semi-realistic shading he occasionally uses on his faces.
Note also that the image at lower right is photoreffed from a pretty cool cosplay set based on Savage Land Rogue, photos from which I might well revisit for an up-to-date sketch set.
