Coming up in January on this here Patreon!

So, here's what's on tap for January:

*I'm currently 6 pages of sketches into nailing down a final character design for the version of the Hushed Half-Elf who appears in the (hopefully) upcoming fantasy comic pitch The Last Party, so you'll be seeing that stuff in a Designs Ahoy post before too long.

On that front, I plan to put up a "coming up in 2023" post ere long discussing my intentions for the Patreon as a whole, and in particular the development of a digital workflow to enable The Last Party as a viable project in the near future.

*That Failed-Project Friday feature detailing the decade-ago, all-ages(!) pitch for Empowered Girl will wrap up within a week or two. Not sure if I'm going to serialize another defunct pitch before the end of the month (I now have plenty to choose from, after combing through some old hard-drive folders), or wait until February for the next one.

*Will put up another mid-2000s PSM swimsuit illo and/or Endpage cartoon feature from the videogame magazine at some point.

*The Work Stages feature on that Scarlet Witch/ Domino story I wrote and drew for Marvel's A+X anthology will continue, with further pages giving a look into a possible lost opportunity in terms of work flow.

*Vintage Con Sketches will be represented at some point in January, along with the usual multiple doses of Life Drawings.

*On the Distressed Damsels front, StarFlight Attendant Lily will prrrrrobably be getting the month off, though I might post an older, unused set of pages of annotated ultra-tech speculation re: Lily's distress issues, as well as digging up some older DiD commissioned sketch sets. Also, I'm hoping to knock out at least a (more) finished page or two from the dormant Rose & Lily: Flowers of Peril CSP experimental story as I try to ramp up digital-art testing in January:

*I also would like to knock out another long-standing commission or two if possible before the end of the month, so you miiiiight see some contemporary as opposed to vintage Con Sketches. (Unlikely, but possible.)

*[Cut 'n' paste time:] As noted a while back, I unearthed a whole bunch of material while resuming the cleaning out of my studio space, such as: a big cache of (very) early Dirty Pair developmental material; the main art for the one music CD cover I did; my sole remaining piece of original artwork from the watercolor era of Dirty Pair cover art, before digital coloring kicked in; a two-page comic done for my high school newspaper (ouch!); a whole bunch of character design material for defunct SF comic pitch Cannibal Sun; and the original art for not one but two stories pitting Street Fighter's Chun Li vs. Cammy—with one comic being an Udon-published short, and the other a commissioned response to the official SF comic. So, at least some of the aforementioned content might be appearing in December, likely to be chosen by poll(s).

*Along those lines, the supplemental "sketchbook" insert featuring my designs for the early-2000s Dark Horse Dirty Pair statue has been kicking around my desktop for over a week now, so I'll probably scan and post that puppy sometime before I stash it away with other, older material.

*Further previews of that Harley Quinn story are also a possibility, as the (March 2023) issue will be up for solicitation shortly; same deal for Empowered vol.12, though I might hold off on more previews until later in the spring.
