My worry about artificial uteruses(?) is in the details. We can do a thing but we don't always understand it very well. I'd hate to cripple future generations because we didn't understand things like how to successfully transfer a microbiome of bacteria without a birth canal. However, as someone who owns a uterus that nevertheless can't support a baby (too much scar tissue), the news of bio bags (like the news of CRISPR) made me stop and go "huh". I've told myself for so long that there are just things I'll never be able to have, like a baby, and I thought I'd gotten used to the idea and gone on happily enough with my life, but I have to admit, it's nice to contemplate options.
