Teenage Butts For Sale???

In which I get my Old Granny Hat on and talk about fashion trends which objectify kids.

Because the question shouldn't be, 'Why would you buy shorts that show off your butt cheeks?'

The more important question is, 'Why would you sell shorts (TO MINORS) that show off their butt cheeks? What made you think sexualising teen and preteen girls was a good idea?'

EXACTLY. No wait I mean: yes, of course, we should all go buy those readily available women's clothes with pockets. Which are so very common. Mmm. I actually have a pair of shorts of a sensible length, with really good pockets. They used to belong to my husband. Not any more, yo. Ugh. Clothes. And the problem must be ten times worse when one isn't a straight size.

Blaming kids or even parents for clothes totally misses the real problem. When I was in middle school the principal went on an anti- short shorts tear and started suspending girls. We had to have a class meeting with all the girls and the science teacher pointed to me and my best friend at the time (who turned out to be a lesbian later) and said everyone should follow our example. Afterwards, my classmates came up and asked me where I bought my clothes because they couldn't find them and I had to explain that I shop in the boys section. I still shop in the boy's section on the very rare occasions where I go to a physical store because finding clothing that is comfortable and appropriate is in the woman's half the store is out and out impossible. One of my best friends just called the other day to tell me he was shopping for his FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER for a bathing suit and could only find bikinis. There might be other options but I don't know where you'd begin to look. It's like whenever a man tells me "If you hate Jeans with no pockets don't buy them." You know, as if there were tons of other clothing options laden with convenient pockets.
